What is Asian Style Furniture?
Click here for Asian FurnitureI know that there are a lot of you wondering what exactly Asian style furniture actually is. The reason that you've probably inquired about this is the fact that it has been becoming a relatively big hit in North America. Most of the furniture that we receive actually does come from China and other Asian countries, but that is designed specifically for us and has nothing to do with the type of Asian type of furniture that I'm talking about. The designs are actually quite unique and they definitely mesh much better with much of Asian culture. It is also important for me that they can vary in design from country and time period. When it comes to the modern Japanese furniture you're going to fight a lot of the designs follow Tansu. That's just a word that means joined wooden boxes when you translate it back into English. This means that you often find beds that are more of a platform than an actual bed. It is almost like they work with boxes and levels to help transform their home, instead of filling it with various pieces of furniture. Obviously furniture is much different in the South East areas of Asia, which include countries like Thailand, Cambodia, Laos,Vietnam and Indonesia. There is actually a very popular pieces that you may of heard of come from Indonesia. They have a very strong and growing economy around their own traditional Asian furniture. They really like darkly stained woods with all of their furniture and try to make as much of it out of teak wood. They all come with their own hand made designs and carvings on them, so no two pieces are exactly the same. This is only a small number of different kinds of Asian furniture that you might be interesting in getting for your home. I obviously can't name all the different kinds because there frankly is too many. Not only are there are a lot of countries with their own unique cultures, but they have different furniture that has varied over time. Some other places that you might be interested in exploring would be Korean and Malaysian types of furniture.
